2011-2020: Warmest Decade, yet Fewest Deaths due to Extreme Climate Events
According to a World Meteorological Organization (WMO) report released on 5th December, 2023, the past decade (2011-2020) marked the warmest in history, with a paradoxical decline in the number of deaths from extreme weather events.
