New Wildlife Sanctuary Named After Dr. B.R. Ambedkar
- The Madhya Pradesh government has declared a 258.64 sq km area in Sagar district as a wildlife sanctuary.
- The sanctuary, named Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Abhyaran, was officially announced on the occasion of 134th birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar, observed on April 14.
- The new sanctuary increases the number of wildlife sanctuaries in Madhya Pradesh to 25.
- The newly announced sanctuary will encompass forest areas in the North Sagar Forest Division, including parts of Banda and Shahgarh tehsils.
- With this initiative, the state not only seeks to protect its rich natural heritage but also generate sustainable livelihood opportunities through eco-tourism ....
