Contempt of Court
- Recently a controversy emerged when the Supreme Court of India took Suo moto action for contempt of court against Social Activist and Lawyer Prashant Bhushan and held him guilty of contempt of court for his tweets which undermined the sanctity of the highest institution of law.
- Contempt of court refers to actions, which defy a court's authority, cast disrespect on a court, or impede the ability of the court to perform its function.
