On 31st July 2025, the Supreme Court (SC) of India examined the persistent issue of delays in disqualification proceedings under the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution.
What is the Case?
- The judgment was delivered by a Division Bench of Chief Justice in Padi Kaushik Reddy vs. The State of Telangana.
- The case pertained to ten MLAs who defected from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to the Indian National Congress (INC) after the Telangana Legislative Assembly elections, held in 2023.
