​Export Potential and Global Competitiveness of Indian Processed Foods

  • India's share in global merchandise exports is currently around 1.8%, making it the 18th largest exporter in the world.
  • Despite not being an export-oriented economy, exports contribute to around 23% of Indian GDP. This is higher than that of large economies like the US (12%), Japan (19%) and China (21%).
