Supporting Women-Led Startups
- Metro cities like Bengaluru and Delhi-NCR are known as 'Startup Hotspots' of India.
- The number of women-led startups is expected to increase from 6,000 in 2017 to 80,000 in 2022.
- To promote flow of equity and credit to women-led startups, 10% share (Rs. 1000 crore) of the 'Fund of Funds' is reserved for women-led startups under 'Startup Scheme' by SIDBI.
- A target has been set to help 7,500 women entrepreneurs every year through the 'WING Programme' issued by the 'Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade' (DPIIT).
