Mekedatu Project: A Twist to Cauvery Water Dispute
Recently, Mekedatu Project march by the Congress was halted after the Karnataka High Court had raised questions on how it could be carried out amid rising COVID-19 cases in the state.

About Mekedatu Project
- Mekedatu, meaning goat’s leap, is a deep gorge situated at the confluence of the rivers Cauvery and Arkavathi, about 100 km from Bengaluru, at the Kanakapura taluk in Karnataka’s Ramanagara district.
- The Project is proposed at the confluence of Cauvery with its tributary Arkavathi.
