Bima Vahaks
On 1st June, 2023, the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (Irdai) released draft guidelines for ‘Bima Vahaks’, seeking to build a dedicated distribution channel in every gram panchayat to enhance insurance coverage and create awareness.

- Bima Vahak is a core component of the ‘Insurance for all by 2047’ goal.
Women-centric Insurance Distribution Channel
- The guidelines emphasize the identification and development of local resources within each Gram Panchayat, with a special focus on encouraging the onboarding of women as Bima Vahaks to gain the trust of the locals.
