  • MoSPI organised the 75th anniversary closing ceremony in Udaipur on 18 Nov 2025.
  • Released National Industrial Classification (NIC) 2025.
  • Established in 1950 based on recommendations of National Income Committee (1949), chaired by P.C. Mahalanobis.
  • NSS has four divisions: SDRD (Kolkata), FOD (Delhi/Faridabad), DPD (Kolkata), SCD (New Delhi).
  • Objectives: collect socio-economic data for policymaking, plan evaluation, and tracking poverty, employment, consumption, health, ....
