Ayushman Bharat and the Growing Grip of Private Healthcare
On 17th October 2025, National Health Authority (NHA) released its annual report 2024-25, in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh).
- The report highlights that under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), majority of beneficiaries are availing treatment from private-sector hospitals, resulting in higher overall expenditure under the scheme.

- Since its launch, over 9 crore treatments worth Rs. 1.29 lakh crore have been provided under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).
