Abraham Accord
Recently, Israel, UAE and Bahrain signed Abraham Accord that aims at establishing formal relations of Israel with these countries.
Significance of the Agreement
- As per the agreements, the UAE and Bahrain will establish embassies, exchange ambassadors, cooperate and work together with Israel across a range of sectors, including tourism, trade, healthcare and security.
- UAE became the third Arab nation to recognize Israel after Egypt (in 1979) and Jordan (1994).
- For decades, there has been a consensus among many Arab and Muslim-majority states that they will not end a state of hostility with Israel until it agrees to a deal granting statehood ....
