Supreme Court issues Notice on Mob Lynching
On 26 July 2019, Supreme Court issued notices to the Central government, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and state governments, including Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, on a petition (PIL) filed by the NGOAnti-Corruption Council of India Trust, seeking implementation status of the apex court’s 2018 guidelines to prevent incidents of mob lynching.
