Project SU.RE launched by Textile Ministry for Sustainable Fashion
On 22nd August the Union Minister for Textiles launched Project SU.RE, a move towards sustainable fashion.
Highlights
- SU.RE stands for ‘Sustainable Resolution’ – which is the first holistic firm commitment from the apparel industry to move towards fashion that contributes to a clean environment and to set a sustainable pathway for the Indian fashion industry.
- It has been launched by Union Textile Ministry, United Nations, Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) and IMG Reliance.
- It aims to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030, especially SDG-12 for responsible consumption and production.
