Three Central Schemes have Generated 2.7 Million Jobs
According to Ministry of Labour and Employment data, 4-7 lakh jobs were generated every year through three schemes. An analysis of available numbers shows that three flagship employment generation programmes - the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), and Deen Dayal Antodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) - have generated 27 lakh employment opportunities in the last four-and-a-half years.
