India, Jordan Pitch Deeper Economic Ties

On 16 December 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and King Abdullah II jointly addressed the India–Jordan Business Forum in Amman, outlining an ambitious roadmap to transform bilateral economic cooperation.
- The India–Jordan Business Forum in Amman was attended by senior business leaders and high-level delegations from both countries across sectors such as fertilizers, textiles, renewable energy, information technology, health, and water management.
- King Abdullah II described the forum as a vital platform to explore partnerships and joint investments, expressing confidence that the engagements would significantly expand trade and investment cooperation between India and Jordan.
- The Jordanian monarch highlighted his country’s competitive advantages in food processing, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, textiles, information and communications technology, energy, mining, tourism, advanced manufacturing, and logistics.
- King Abdullah II proposed building an economic corridor linking South Asia with the Middle East, Africa, and Europe by combining Jordan’s strategic location and free trade agreements with India’s economic scale and industrial strengths.
